  my enjoyment of michael 17 was probably impeded by how i went into this A) expecting a true bong rip adjacent to mems of murder or parasite and B) with my knowledge of foundational and subversive dystopian texts (my degree is finally useful). all basically explore themes in this movie with more nuance or at least in more entertaining ways. i was waiting for the secret family in the basement or the showdown in the tunnel. or the airship to crash…

  I got really emotional in the wedding scene where Glen Powell had a flower in his lapel. It just got me thinking about celebrations and the abundance of flowers on Earth.
