The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare 2024
It is difficult to tell whether anything actually happened amongst all the posturing in this film. Particularly because the dialogue is so utterly ridiculous, when something is actually, finally happening, it is impossible to take seriously.
Put simply, it feels as though Ritchie tried to lift the gravitas and élan of the British establishment from the Crown, shake it up with a large measure of Tarantino, and hope for the best. Unfortunately, it falls far short of the "seriousness threshold" for a satirised thriller, leaving it seeming, frankly, just a bit silly.
