Frances Ha 2012
Spectacular. Frances Ha beautifully captures post-university life, where so many people’s lives, jobs, relationships, and ‘adulthoods’ are accelerating at different speeds. Contrasting the lives of any two characters in the film shows how expectations and goals can be drastically different at this age - some people have lofty career or relationship goals, others are just trying to survive - but the film makes clear that no one path is no better than another. This is definitely one that every person in their 20s should watch.
