I finally watched and I sort of get the hype. Since winning Best Picture, Sean Baker and the film have come under scrutiny for its exploitation of crew. This isn't a review of that but if those allegations hold true then fuck him.

I really thought it was just going to be a normal gay love picture but it in fact turned out to be an incredible depiction of how we reach for love, search for it in aftermaths, and the complete okayness of not knowing, wrapped up in the warmth of two men loving each other out from shame.
This film does a wonderful job of making you feel like the twist is the end-all; but in actuality it’s doing the sickest…
