probably one of the best screenplays ever made

I love the Coen brothers and always appreciated how energetic and full of life all their early work had been.

but “No Country for Old Men” feels like their first proper step into a drastic artistic tone shift in their career. One that feels more somber, “mature”

the active choice of not having a musical score is so bold, yet it works so well on adding to the tense and oppressing atmosphere, sloww, quiet..  no flashy climax with huge set pieces. Just the subtle silence  of every day horrors.

    I lie so much, I don’t know what’s true.
And the truth doesn’t make anything easier.

All I want is someone to step in and say:
    you are real.

Ariana Grande carried the movie with her performance imo. you…

As an extremely loose adaptation of Frankestein, I feel Poor Things is what all “mature reimagining” of classic fairytales have been trying to be for years.

Distorting and reimagining the classic story; transforming it into one that is observed through the dark lens of humanity’s deeply rooted perversion.

Bella as a character is one of the most efficient vessels for storytelling i’ve witnessed.
Every action this character takes is one of profound meaning. Dissecting the true nature of men’s ill…
