I'm genuinely baffled that they managed to take a very real and relatable situation that nearly every woman has found herself in and turn it into such a muddled and offensive narrative. Almost everything in this movie is such an accurate representation of female fear that the complete lapse into unreality at the end feels deliberate in the worst way.

I saw this at IFC Center on the second night of its premiere. I don’t know how to begin to explain how much of this resonated with me and why. There is something magical and healing about experiencing another trans woman’s art and I left the theater feeling happy to be trans in a world that gives me so few opportunities to feel good about myself.
