I get it but I also don't -- it exists in a very specific social context of post vietnam america that makes it makes sense, and these days the philosophy towards societal degradation is more of idgaf than reactionary violence (although we should really bring that back). peak for its period though, can see why antiheroism is simultaneously attractive and sickening, a big fuck you to the gunsligning badass.
