  Not as deep as the first time I watched but much funnier than I remember. I appreciate this movie as a great piece of low budget filmmaking, but the magic is kinda gone. I’ll never be mad about 17th century costumes however.

  Mads Mikkelson aura farming for 90 minutes.

  I love cheap period pieces where people in costumes just fuck off to the woods. The high contrast comic book style lighting was distracting and made this movie feel like a collection of video game cutscenes. The idea of this movie was cooler than the execution. The score was rly good and parts of the movie rly kicked ass, but they insisted on making it quiet.

  A movie made specifically for my dad. Very impressive piece of documentary filmmaking. I loved the style of this movie so much. Not sure I buy the thesis of the CIA using jazz to kill Lumumba but that’s beside the point
