This movie has a reputation for being absurd, and it definitely earns that reputation if you're the type of viewer that might watch a movie like a series of events that happen. As in, this girl got eaten by a piano, then this girl got eaten by a lamp, etc
What surprised me on first watch, though, is just how clear and concise what the movie is about, thematically. If you view the movie on the same wavelength that it works on, it's a strangely beautiful and heartfelt piece of art, and a celebration of the creative process on the whole
