with great power comes great responsibility…

Man!!!!! Seeing this live in a cinema was one of the most special film watches i’ve ever had. Easily the greatest comic book movie ever crafted; it’s an almost perfect film dare I say one of the best of the whole 2000s.

Pacing is often something I don’t really think about. It’s only super noticeable when it’s a) really bad or b) really good. The way this film doesn’t drag any scenes on and…

    what an incredible, incredible film…

Three hour films can feel so heavy and long sometimes especially when so little actually happens in some of them, but Heat justifies it in every single way. A film that’s so hard to put into words with just how much of it is about the feeling you get from it. It feels like Kubrick puts his arm out and shakes the hand of God. For 1968, or any year, it is one of most visually striking pieces of media ever made, with its bright lights and set design, as well as the gorgeous technicolor. Would be a 5 if those monkeys in the opening 20 minutes weren’t so annoying (yes they really annoyed me that much) but otherwise it’s completely perfect and beautiful

Really good. A very endearing and appropriately enigmatic look at young Bob Dylan, led by Kylie Jenner’s nerdy boyfriend who was excellent at showing Bob as a young ambitious artist and a detached, rude asshole. Still don’t love Mangold’s best director nom, but this still was a beautifully shot film with its storytelling, colour and lighting; still so much better than 90% of things we get thrown today. Although this all made me enjoy it nonetheless, It wouldn’t have been…
