Control 2007
Incredibly dour and bleak, as expected. The film is exceptionally well-acted, and Anton Corbijn’s background in photography shines through with numerous breathtaking, deliberate shots in a stark black-and-white color scheme. As a pretty big Joy Division fan, I’m glad I finally got around to this. Even if you’re unfamiliar with Ian Curtis and the band, it still works as a compelling film on its own.
