  Half way through watching it finally clicked I had seen this film before. This film isn't scary at all only one scene towards the end was creepy the rest was just unhinged.

  Not going to rate this movie but I'll like it. For what it’s worth it’s okay, but there are too many aspects that don’t sit right with me. The cinematography is great, and the visuals are stunning, but the exaggerated portrayals of Black Brazilians felt off-putting to me. The soundtrack was perfect, I didn’t realize Antônio Carlos Jobim was behind some of it. I wonder if this influenced his later collaboration with Stan Getz.

  I was hoping this wouldn’t be a waste of time, but unfortunately, it was.

  Lazy writing 101: if you don’t want to wrap up the movie properly or make any sense, just end it randomly and call it “creative writing” so it’s conveniently “open to interpretation.” 

  If /r/Atheism came together to fund a horror/thriller movie, this would be it—just missing a fedora.
