The Batman 2022
Batman is Indispensable
Following up The Dark Knight trilogy is no easy task, however this film does a tremendous job of cutting it close & making a different, distinct name for itself. The world is beautifully flushed out, it feels alive, dark, gloomy & real. The colors do an excellent job of setting the mood here, each shot feels like a painting slowly unfolding itself.

The Cycle of Love
The feelings of love & heartbreak are so full here. It's the complete cycle of it all, showing the depths of heartbreak in contrast to the sprung feelings of something new. You can choose to live in the past or understand that life must move forward. This movie is a small chapter in each of these characters lives, a small slice of what makes live hard with what makes it a bit easier.

Astonishment
This films progression from start to finish is really something to marvel at. It has a way of taking huge ideas but making them palatable and grounded, the film never felt heightened. The whole time I felt like all of the twists and turns were things that could happen in real life.

Society of the Snow 2023
The Terrifying Truth.
This film was fantastic because it showed the truth. By not holding back and showing the reality of the circumstance, they honor the victims and what they went through. From a spectators perspective you judge the people less (not that there's any room to judge at all) when you see the real shame, embarrassment, and desperation on their faces. Desperate times call for desperate measures, I thought the actors did an amazing job bridging that gap and moving this from history into a real, tangible experience for us to digest.4.5/5
