  It is very interesting watching a movie that almost perfectly emulates the style of a comic strip with clear cut shapes and staging. It feels like it’s visually also trying to emulate the style of magazines during the era. Bureaucracy is everything here and I think emulates the worries of transitioning from a more rural lifestyle to one stuck in a city. There’s a weird almost Mel Brooks style to it as well especially with the product section. There are such weird details in this movie there’s fake cutouts in the bus and I don’t even know why it’s not like they didn’t have extras?

  An incredible film whose influence knows no bounds. I think Kanye took the wrong thing from this movie as he seems to want the government to be exactly like the corrupt government in the film.
