Saving Private Ryan 1998
still probably the most visceral battle scenes of all time. should be required watching for young people along with context about WWII, who the Nazis were, and what they were were actually trying to do. (the term gets thrown around way too much nowadays).
fwiw the matt damon speed-ageing moment at the end is unfortunately too heavily memed now, and i feel bad laughing at that part.
