Those who know me know how little I mess around about rpatt… even less when rpatt does a silly little accent….
Hard to even call this film a metaphor it’s an extremely direct critique of trumpism and all the actors are incredible. The script was a bit lacking for me and I felt like some parts were a little undercooked but still very enjoyable. I would almost equate it to a live action Miyazaki movie in terms of the fantastical world building mixed with societal critiques.
So refreshing to watch such a beautiful and thoughtfully created movie. The cinematography was incredible, there were a few small monologues with made me tear up, and the general question of what does it mean to be a follower of religion.
The conversation on the failures of the church/dogmatic nature could have been more, however the minimal dialogue also really adds something to the movie as well so not sure if I can say that or not.

This was honestly a horror movie for me!!!! But also I loved it so much!
Watching as a woman is one of the most painful experiences but also I’ve never get more seen… making Anora a sex worker distances her at first from a big part of the audience but slowly you start to realize sex worker not, as women we all see ourselves in her. Looser ass men will say they love you, and slowly you’ll start to believe…
