  quentin tarantino's samurai movie homage is a great film, balancing violence and goofiness. the anime-inspired scenes, including a five-minute animated sequence, were a nice touch. uma thurman is perfect in her role, with a dark backstory that's still fun. the action scenes are bloody and over-the-top, adding to the film's overall enjoyment.
