  i feel like i just needed more about anora, know more grrrr loved her :((

  but i guess that’s the point of this movie… she sees her worth in her sexuality and in her body (even tho there’s a lot of depth to her character, you just have to read it between the lines and in the nuances of mikey’s performance) so that’s what we, the audience, get to see

  “What we don’t understand, we make into monsters”.

  Kore-eda is a master at storytelling and this movie is another proof of it. “Monster” show us a series of events from a perspective of a single mother, her preteen son and his teacher. The narrative is divided in three acts, making you form opinions on the characters and later take those back as everything unfolds. It’s beautiful and painful.
