Dredd 2012
The movie thinks that police brutality is awesome without a hint of irony, Karl Urban doesn’t have the voice or the jawline for the role, the colour timing is atrocious and everything is covered in intense sensor noise. But the action is fun and there’s lots of good gore and violence so who’s to say if it’s good or bad.

Shadow of the Eagle 2005
A musical melodrama set in Finland during the first Russification period. Conceptually I really love this but the execution unfortunately falters badly due to a sloppy script, corny dialogue, wooden acting, and a pervasive poor sense of style and lack of tonal consistency. Shudders 1965
The poster proudly proclaims Väreitä to be ‘the first Finnish nudist movie’ but the nudity is so understated and brief that the Finnish film ratings board classified the film as ‘allowed for children’. However, one cannot imagine that many children—or even teenagers—would have been interested in this extremely boring picture; there really is very little story. Most scenes consist of a silent man walking through picturesque (and well photographed) Finnish forest and lake landscapes occasionally musing forgettable platitudes in voiceover all set to a gentle jazz score by Finnish modern jazz giant Heikki Sarmanto who just about manages to make the experience bearable.

Enjoying this movie requires you to have the type of brain rot that makes you care about EU politics and I have it.
