A very tough but important watch. Beautifully shot, stark and dreary both thematically and visually.

I gather the protagonists are an amalgamation of stories from various survivors. I think what Denis was trying to juxtapose here with the ending is the guilt vs resiliency of the survivors, and that equality needs buy-in from all involved; feminism is both not a burden yet nor should it be shouldered by women alone.

It was a cool premise, on paper a dystopian alternate past depicting at a post-robot uprising society is me to a tee, but like a plot device in this movie, it too suffered from bifurcation. Was this for kids, or for adults? It seems like both; it straddled the line too hard and never really declared itself either way. Good cast but uninspiring performances. I image 90% was filmed in front of a green screen talking to CGI robots, so that’s probably just how that goes. Not a bad movie, but I just wish given the premise, it was darker and grittier.

What a fuckin ride. Right out of the gate, you’re like “is this really happening to him? Or is this depicting how an anxiety attack feels?” And then three hours later, you’re still asking yourself that question. There’s no rock bottom to this rabbit hole, just Alice falling in perpetuity. Incredible movie.

Really great performances from Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong. The juxtaposition during the plastic surgery scene is incredibly powerful, and I have absolutely no trouble believing that’s exactly how that shit went down.

After 9+ years of enduring just the dumbest Trumpisms, it was interesting how they illustrated their origins throughout his younger life. Almost like an Easter egg when you’d hear one in the movie.

Had no idea trump was straight edge. Still doesn’t make me like him. Fuck that dude fr fr
