The Day of the Jackal 1973
This was a masterclass in slow-burn thrills. The protagonist is a clinical and cold hit man, and the script and characters are tightly written and very plainly acted. This is a no frill, taut action thriller and definitely set the groundwork for a lot of other “killer/hitman” types. I really enjoyed this film for what it was, because sometimes the journey to get to the ultimate moment is greater than that moment itself.

I had a higher opinion of this film when I was younger and nothing will change the fact that this movie has a big influence on me and my tastes. That’s being said, this isn’t a great movie at all, it’s a bad movie; but it’s still a very dated but fun watch. Just barely though.
