The choices they've made with the song arrangements are quite good, such as the decision to stick closer to the order of the original musical, and the depth given to the characters and their relationships gives everything increased emotional weight and relevance.   Loved the premise and how the clues start getting more and more bizarre as the autopsy progresses. I guess at that point any conclusion would have been a bit of a let down with how well they built up the suspense, but the whole Salem witch trial explanation seemed a bit farfetched and I couldn't fully understand just how they had managed to leap to that conclusion. Still, the spooks were pretty good, and the whole concept is pretty fresh.…

  I am not particularly enthusiastic about Elizabeth Gaskell's novels, having little love for Victorian romances and social novels myself, but 'Wives and Daughters' was an entertaining watch, even if my sole interest in it lay in the historical clothing and setting.
