sheesh that was a HEAVY watch, goddamn.

i loved it, it kept me invested throughout the movie, it had that element where you always wanted to know the outcome for the characters and how will it affect their lives.

powerful story that was complimented with that amazing acting performances from almost every cast member, they all did a very great job. the brazil 70s set was also beautifully represented i would say.

this is my favorite movie of 2024.

i always wanted to watch it, i knew that it is one of THESE classics you know & it did deliver.

amazing story and plot, diving deep down into one of the most complicated dynamics and personalities is fascinating, especially considering this came out in the 50s.

and how it tackled fame / becoming a star, is just perfect, gotta be up there it not the best one to do it, acting & writing is also top notch.

it reminded me a little bit of sunset blvd.

istg i never expected i would rate this movie that low tbh, i didn't even expect it would be this bland, it doesn't have that feeling if u know what i mean.

the acting is nice & the cinematography, but the story couldve EASILY been done in a better way, ik and im aware its adapted from a book that was influenced by real events, but to make it work you should at least make me understand how these circumstances started to happen or smthn, you cant expect me as a viewer just sympathize with the characters with no backstory.

ima be honest, this wasn't a fun watch at all.

i didn't enjoy most of the movie, i didn't find anything THAT appealing or interesting, not the story or the cinematography, couldn't resonate with any of the characters.

i don't know, but i expected something way better, this wasn't for me prolly.

so where do we start, first lemme say that this is my first time going to a cinema in saudi, it happened to be a saudi film, kinda experience.

anyway, i loved most of the film starting with the fact that it is SO relatable as a saudi, u could understand almost every reference for jokes and public figures, alongside with the atmosphere for that era.

the biggest con imo is the acting performances, most of the cast they gave…
