    Archive

    ★★★★

Can a robot replace a loved one? Are they the sum of their memories? Or are they more?

These are just some of the questions that Archive poses and like many movies about robots, they straddle on a thin ethical line. Yet, Archive has managed to do this without making it an overtly political question, and, ironically, depicts more of a human story than one about androids. It’s a story about loss, grief and replacement, and one which I’m quite frankly surprised has not yet been attempted by film.

Archive is severely underrated and I recommend all to watch it.

    Kate

    ★★★

Violent with the neo-noir aesthetic, this movie reminded me a lot of Bladerunner. Kate is an interesting character, but she seems to take way too many bullets than is realistic. The plot twist at the end of the movie was somewhat predictable but it is made up by the wonderful choreography and beautiful cinematography. Woody Harrelson plays the mysterious persona well as he usually does. Would recommend a watch but probably not a rewatch.

  • The Man from Toronto

    The Man from Toronto

    ★★★

The Man from Toronto is a funny movie as can be expected from most of Kevin Hart’s movies. However, there were many instances that just didn’t make a lot of sense. All in all, a fun but brainless movie to watch.

  • Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

    Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

    ★★★

An average spy movie. It does not match up to other more upbeat spy movies such as Jason Bourne or The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Keria Knightley and Chris Pine make for a good duo but theyre nothing exceptional. Would I watch it again? Perhaps, in a few years.
