Bizarre. I was not sure at points if the writers intended for me to laugh or not. The horror was effective at times, and the kills were great if that's what you are looking for, but this movie is not very serious. Even some the the kills had me laughing in the theatre. This movie has more going on then I first thought thematically, which is cool, but it was mostly a goofy horror movie throughout. It was awesome.

Mars Attacks! 1996
Once you understand this movie is a total troll, it all starts to make sense. This movie is great if you want to see Jack Nicholson die twice, in two unique ways at that! I can't hate this movie for the life of me, as it was a childhood movie I would watch with my dad all the time. Pretty odd on a rewatch though, the humor is definitely specific. If you like parodies of 1950s horror movies this is for you.

I should not have watched this movie when I was 11, holy shit. This movie is very good though. Natalie Portman KILLS as Nina in this movie. I am not going to say much because I don't want to spoil anything, but the representation of someone developing schizophrenia is so well done. I am not sure if a movie has done it better. Definitely worth a watch if you like psychological thrillers!
