Ya love to see Matthew Lillard in anything. I liked how most of the cast looked like actual people, except for Vanessa. The ending was kinda whatever, and the framework story is just fine. I had fun watching it. The song that plays over the credits is terrible though.

Creature from the Black Lagoon 1954
I wore a VHS copy of this movie out when I was a little kid. The monster is great, sound design is great, it's weirdly progressive for the time (acknowledges evolution as the prevailing theory for life on Earth, the "damsel" character is a respected scientist), and it pioneered underwater filming techniques. I feel bad for the actor who almost drowned in the Creature suit. Glad he made it.
