Longlegs 2024
Part I is unbelievably brilliant filmmaking and the rest is blah. Loses all momentum after that and doesn't regain any of the interesting technical work. Definitely my preferred horror film on cults/religious trauma etc, but is severely lacking in its execution of the story. The lighting design is some of the most complete and stunning work I've seen in film for a decade. It is truly outstanding the way they understand light and are able to utilize it as a storytelling element.
