It's Bette. And Goldie. And Diane. DIANE!
This movie feels like home. Not exactly sure what that means, but it's Uber comforting, predictable, and yet totally entertaining. Oh, and my film-degreed/buff boyfriend thinks it's a waste of cinematic reels... So extra 1/2 star!
How do you like it? Dark, white, nutty, absolutely insane? F this movie.
I can't adequately express how disappointing this movie is to the series. Who asked for this? Why is it a musical? WHO IS THE INTENDED AUDIENCE?!?
This film reeks of a remake (premake?) designed to apply to adults that loved the original as a child and want to share the "magic" with their own child.
Have you ever watched the death of a beloved series? What a horrible viewing experience.
I'm completely surprised by how much I liked this movie. The imagery was fantastic and the acting was SO good it makes your want to scream at the screen. Super convincing decent down the rabbit hole that is grief. I'll leave it there before I spoil something.
Supporting cast is just as spot on and convincing as main cast.
I think my husband summed it up well when he said "that's about as Sundance as I get". Dystopian, futuristic, engaging (borderline entrenching) and ultimately anti-climactic. With that said, this movie is a behavioral-emotional drama all about the evolution of two people in the face of the evolution and development of society and technology.
Beautiful yet disturbing.
