I wanna see how the fuck they convinced the executives to greenlight this movie. "Yeah it's an animated kids movie but every character is insanely ugly and also there's prostitutes and obscure references to academy awards and there's themes of existentialism. Give us 135 million dollars please" and then it just happened to be the most unique and funny animated movie ever made for the time.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off 2023
This is REALLY good, it's not what I expected at all, but everything worked so well and all of the characters were so fleshed out. As someone who can basically recite the movie word for word and who has read the entire graphic novel series twice, as much as I would have welcomed another adaption of the graphic novel series, I'm really glad they took it in a completely different direction. Couldnt recommend this more, the romance is also amazing which I'm a huge sucker for.
