Not a bad 80s horror throwback. It actually felt like an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark," with more gore. The effects weren't bad for an independent, low-budget film either. The only thing that really bothered me was the acting and the writing. A lot the dialogue felt stilted and awkward at times.

I watched this movie at work to kill time. So if you're in the mood for a cheesy, amateur horror film that's got a few good jump scares and has an interesting premise -- and a cool video store setting -- give it a shot!

Finally got around to seeing this one. As someone who has been afraid of the dark my whole life, there were def. some intensely creepy moments. The story was decent -- nothing profound, or that original -- but interesting enough for a one time watch.

I enjoyed the family dynamic and tension more than the actual horror aspects of the film, and I wasn't a fan of the usual horror cliches exploited throughout, but I would recommend checking it out if you just want a few good scares and some good acting!

One of my favorite slasher films to date. I'm always in the mood to watch Friday the 13th whenever the weather is nice out and it's the beginning of summer break because who doesn't love some good teenage camp carnage?

The special effects also hold up super well even today -- that Kevin Bacon neck slice is to die for -- and Mrs. Voorhees is probably the most surprising and creepiest slasher killer of all time. "Kill her mommy!"

    Found footage done right.

Hyper-realistic and genuinely scary modern monster movie. My only issue is with the setting inaccuracies. As a New Yorker, I'm not buying the fact that they walked all the way from Spring St. to 59th especially for what seemed like a brief time-lapse. Otherwise, a fantastic horror film.
