First and foremost was Banshees of Inisherin not what I was expecting. On another note, it was everything I was expecting, and I would say this is what it makes it a good film.
Banshees of Inisherin was a simple film about heartbreak had you not watched it carefully. But it is thoroughly written and constructed to not only give the viewer an idea of the Irish Civil War but also to represent an entire population of Irish folk.
