    really dug this. comedy specials are always more my speed when they hew closer to “storytelling,” and that’s what Jerrod does so well here. the throughline of the experience, even when it’s a little erratic, is always bouncing on one wavelength.

    there’s a few shots near the end where he looks right into the camera — probably on accident, after mostly looking at his feet the whole special — and it feels remarkably like the most honest anyone may have ever been. there aren’t even words in those moments, but they just feel like truth.
