There were so many similarities between my corporate job and this movie. Promotions, future plannings & timeboxing, cost reduction initiatives, office politics, "business" travels and employee achievement praisings. Except the output of the business is headcount and not dollar amount. I've never seen a movie about the holocaust in the perspective of the "employee" families around the camps. We need these reminders of how fucked up normalizing hatred is. I admired the oscar speech for this movie, I was glad to see this work shedding some light to the dehumanization that is present today.
This movie made me feel strangely uncomfortable. It was very claustrophobic, dreamy and just sad. I felt like trapped in a fever dream. Still, I don't mean those in a bad way. It was very powerful and that's the whole point. I especially loved how the dreams and reality were very much bundled in the movie and you never knew what was a dream and what was reality. It was all just a combination of regrets, hopes, love and nostalgia.…
