The Brutalist 2024
The film was beautiful no doubt about it but the underlying message “it’s not about the journey. It’s about the destination” seemed to me to be insensitive/ tone deaf when you consider the second half of the film and its idealisation of Isreal as the motherland. I appreciate the context of this post war and the significance this pilgrimage but given the current climate it seemed an odd focal point of the film.
