Rigor Mortis 2013
I started thinking this would be a cheap thoughtless film. But I soon found myself deeply curious about all the things in this movie, not just the culturally tied mythologies, but the style. It’s so fuckjng COOL what the fuck! I’m glad this Film’s able to show off Asian mythology and superstitious beings with such seriousness and care. Love it

The Little Flower 1979
Took me by surprise, the cinematography was immense, and the editing was very well done with the a lot to dissect. Of course it’s very propaganda type messages, but considering it’s China right after Cultural revolution ended, it had to have had these aspects to survive in the industry. The story was very visually driven, but it doesn’t mean it lacks. Even though pantomime acting isn’t rlly my thing, I really appreciate all the artistry that went into this film. Praise!
