  Really just an anti-war portrait. Plot is not the point. Motivations for the civil war are basically untouched. I agree this film could have potentially said SOMETHING more but I also think it said just enough. I also think it won't matter; art like this won't save our crumbling society and it won't wake people up to the realities of war or genocide in other places. I did really appreciate the sound design, mixing sounds of nature, non-diagetic music, and loud violent sounds of war. There were also some unique beautiful shots.
