    Meet The Spartans

The Spartan King, Leonidas, must battle the overwhelming army of the Persian Empire with 300 soldiers.

I’m half and half with this one. Half of it is a very fun time with very nice visuals, and the other half is not a very well done story full of historical inaccuracies, propaganda, xenophobia, racism, as well as eugenics. Even so, it’s quite a feat to make a homosexual film without a single homosexual kiss. This is pretty fun, but I’m afraid it’s fun does not significantly outweigh its problems for me.

Fanny loves Jean but feels more like an accessory to Jean’s lavish lifestyle and it is in this setup she reunites…

During a family camping trip, 14 year old Jamie develops a crush on his cousin’s boyfriend.

This is one of the most intelligent and maturely done films centered on a teenager I’ve seen from western cinema. Really surprised me with how much was understood by not only the filmmakers but the actors as well. A simple experience that really develops in beautiful ways. Innocence in western cinema is typically portrayed in a caricaturistic way and here it feels…
