Dune: Part Two 2024
Whilst Dune Part 1 whispered to its audience in subtleties and metaphors, Part 2 roars in operatic cries of religious fervor and the deception of "charismatic leaders" that rule the world. Paul's paradigm shift is nothing but excellent in this sequel, especially aided by Timothee Chalamet's impeccable performance and Denis' thorough understanding of Herbert's work. The French Dispatch 2021
A fascinating exploration of the intricacies of journalism in the vivacious 60s. Wes Anderson directs this with the utmost care, gorgeous cinematography and loquacious dialogue. Whilst this does succeed in many areas, the 3 stories that the movie is divided into lack cohesion and the third one in particular, was too absurd and silly for my liking. I was left discombobulated in my seat but entertained nevertheless.
