Naked Lunch 1991
Disturbia. A fever dream of moral ambiguity and the battle with addiction. I can confidently say I’ve never seen anything like Naked Lunch, and had to confirm I was not hallucinating for how outrageous each scene stitched together. Strong direction in act I & II, but act III lost momentum when it turned to Dr. Benway. A lot to unpack here. William’s monologues were certainly highlights, almost Seussian in their situational obscurity. Overall, I’d recommend to anyone who likes hallucinatory mystery.
