The choices made to make this movie more audience friendly were mostly very good. The visuals are nothing short of monumental. Austin Butler, Zendaya and Thimothee all killed it.

Here my notes with the presentation of the story, mostly my thoughts are on small points, minor qualms after a first viewing. Before I spew a bunch of specifics, I loved the movie. A whole hell of a lot.

This movie is the empire strikes back for a new generation. The movie skips all act one setup, maybe with a 5-10 minute act one relying on the ten years of build up to work fromand it works well. The movie then moves at a pretty quick pace and is fairly action packed. The Russos do very well setting up an amazing misdirection, spending a whole 3rd of the film on a quest that seems to be the only answer…
