    What sub/sub/sub genre of family drama does this film belong to? Maybe a combination of dysfunction and impending doom. Nothing really happens, but the rot is all in the implied - which is where this film succeeds. It’s also somehow uncomfortably familiar - we all know a narcissist capable of painting the rosiest of pictures regardless of how close to the surface the truth is. Watch this is you want a stark reminder of the other side of the familial coin.

    Generally speaking - prequels/sequels that happen years after a show/film ends don’t work. The context changes, the discourse has moved on - most of the time it just isn’t relevant or pressing anymore (I’m looking at you El Camino).
