One of those films which I won’t be able to move on from while. You know, when you need to keep going back to certain aspects of it again. Over and over. Such a great movie about the need for self-actualisation in the face of emotional distances with those who are near to to you. Captures really well that feeling of strangeness — everything close being too far. The phone calls with Zhenya are so prescient: Khutsiev could have been articulating an internet friendship. The feeling of isolation when surrounded by people and how Lena feels so alone even in such a crowded city is conveyed well.
