An extremely entertaining revenge story. Joaquin Phoenix plays an exceptional villain, and Russell Crowe an exceptional hero. I would have liked to see Maximus survive the film (apparently this was the original ending for the film before major script changes), but I can see how that could have effected the impact of the story. The cinematography and music were excellent. A must watch movie in my opinion, wish I had seen it earlier.
Fantastic cinematography. Despite its length it feels like a very short watch and manages to remain entertaining throughout its entire run time. I found the audio mix to be problematic and felt like I missed roughly 20% of the dialogue. The detonation of the atomic bomb was a phenomenal scene, and what made it even better is knowing that it was shot with a foundation of practical effects.

I thought it was an awesome sequel with great action scenes. In general I think it’s way more realistic than something like John Wick, but it definitely has it’s inconsistencies and plot holes.
For example, there’s a scene on the train where they don’t notice or hear a helicopter hovering right outside, and Tyler manages to climb onto the roof of the train and shoot the helicopter down without any sort of deterrence from the gunner on the helicopter. Hemsworth delivers a fantastic performance as well, but I thought the character of Tyler Rake wasn’t developed much from the previous entry.
