This is exactly what you might expect from a stylistic Doors documentary narrated by Johnny Depp. I'm a casual Doors fan and I'm not sure where I landed on it. I think maybe I would have enjoyed it more watching it late at night with friends in my early 20's, rather than in bed sick as a 40 year old.
On one hand the editing and vibe really does work with the music and it suits a whirlwind speed uncontrollable…

A remarkable film, but I spent most of it confused about how I felt about it, which I think took me out of the moment. Probably a downside of watching on the small screen.
The design, direction and performances were as weird, beautiful and high quality as I expected. It reminded me of prime era Terry Gilliam which is always a good thing.
However, I can understand the critisism that the 'sexy baby'/ 'born yesterday' trope was icky; definately uncomfortable…
This was everything I wanted it to be and more.
