The escalation of the premise was at a 3/10. I needed much more.
I don’t think this film had much to say which is a shame.
Albrecht Schuch‘s performance was excellent so overall still enjoyable.
Absolutely gorgeous, original, profound, sumptuous. A feast for the eyes and the heart. At the same time, I can see why one would have problems with this particular male gaze on this particular female story.
I am not familiar with the director‘s previous work so I went in without any expectations. And I adore this film! Extremely well-crafted and performed. Out of many things I loved about its storytelling, I was especially touched by the depiction of the migrant characters. Their inner lives, the vast differences and experiences among them, the consequences of that. Such refinement is rare and I appreciate it.
