Manhattan 1979
Im giving this a four and a half for the writing and the beautiful shots. Also, New York is a character in this.
Now, at the same time, this movie is really fucking weird and made me deeply uncomfortable. More autobiographical than Allen intended us to see. However, the knowledge of the real Woody Allen made the despicable nature of all of these characters that much more glaring.
A beautiful city corrupted by terrible people, the only decent person being the seventeen year old. And that makes this movie even sadder as Woody Allen corrupts her as well. This movie was the ultimate Freudian slip.

Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 2024
I do not understand the hate for this movie. It’s the best experience I’ve had in a movie theater since… Dune Part 2. Horizon’s cinematography and soundtrack are fantastic. There are many characters, maybe one too many. However, I both respect and love the scale at which Costner is building this world. It’s Lord of the Rings meets Deadwood. If you didn’t enjoy the film, you can at least give it three stars for the size of Costner’s balls.
