I couldn’t quite openly sob in the theater like I needed to, but I will be rewatching as quickly as possible in the privacy of my own home. It should have been illegal for this to come out the same year as Charli XCX’s “I think about it all the time.” I wasn’t born to carry the weight of women’s ambitions at this level. And women who are loved so tenderly by their partners — needless to say: I was devastated by this movie for all of the right reasons.
I loved how emotionally contained the movie was. Very relatable for people who like to keep it safe. The kind of romantic representation I wouldn’t have thought to ask for, but I’m so glad to have received!
