The writing felt mediocre, which is probably consistent with some of the criticisms of the first Avatar. But I expected more knowing that this movie took a decade to produce. Mid-movie I was wondering how the writing was going to create an excuse for the humans to invade a cluster of islands away from their operation, and their excuse was "bc we want to kill Jake Sully" which has nothing to do with their broader objective of colonizing Pandora.
