A toon that was indeed looney. I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t watched a looney tune in a decade, but this was wackier than I expected. And that’s in a good way, but I do think the movie lost some steam for me towards the end when I was waiting for them to wrap it up. It was pretty good, and nice to see 2D animation back.

Novocaine 2025
A film with a great premise, witty writing, and a questionable quest (you’ll understand after watching). Midway through the movie leaves you scratching your head on if this main character is really the antagonist of his own story. I’ll leave it at that. The movie consistently surprised me with the creative ways they were able to make Nathan take advantage of his lack of pain. Not for the faint of heart when it comes to gore. Overall, it was pretty funny and entertaining, but not too groundbreaking.

Black Bag 2025
It’s a movie that reminds you how important it is to get the first 20 minutes right. But this movie doesn’t even get the first 45 minutes right. Once it got in a rhythm, I started to really like the twists and turns. It felt like I was playing a defective board game once we got into it, but the movie totally fails at proper exposition and gives the audience too much credit to figure out the complicated story they’re throwing out there. It wasn’t bad, had some good qualities, especially towards the end. But it needed a better exposition for sure.
