Little Miss Sunshine 2006
This movie perfectly encapsulates what it was like to grow up as a little girl in the 2000s. Punk rock brother with a soft spot, caring yet intense mother and father, an uncle who is finding his way through the world. And at the heart of it all, an innocent girl who just wants to make everyone happy, and unknowingly, herself.
For me, this is an emblem to the West coast, to the 2000s nuclear family, to the little girls of the world who struggled against the body images, and much more.
One of my favorite screenplays!
